Our programme takes into consideration the different stages of development that children experience, following the EYFS
nationalstrategies.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/earlyyears (you will find reference to this throughout the website). Our sessions are organised in a way that children can take part in a variety of child-led activities and are encouraged to take part in adult-led activities, which introduce them to new experiences and help them to gain new skills.
Group discussion, free play, story time, music, and movement, PE and group games form part of each session, which encourages sharing, good manners, and socialising with others.
We have a special link with St Bede’s Catholic Primary School, which is a well established and reputable school.
Outdoor activities contribute to children’s health, their physical development, and their knowledge of the world around them. As the setting is based within a sports ground, we offer excellent outdoor facilities within a safe environment. In addition we have our own fenced play area as well as access to a small play ground for young children.
The children are encouraged to take part in outdoor self-chosen activities and adult-led activities, as well as those provided indoors. One of our members of staff is a qualified coach for a sports programme designed for children of pre-school age.
